Some women hold a family up. You hold ours together.
Three children. One stubborn husband. One quiet, unstoppable woman.

Mother's Day, 2026
What the children know
Because of you, they know things
they will never need to be taught.
They know what safe feels like.

Not because anyone told them. Because you sat with them, every time, until the dark stopped being dark.

They know how to come home.

You made the kitchen warm. You remembered what they like. You left the light on. They will carry that for the rest of their lives.

They know how to be loved.

Children learn love the way they learn language. From the woman who never stops speaking it.

They know what work looks like.

Not the kind that gets a paycheck. The kind that gets up before everyone else and goes to bed after everyone else, and never asks once for credit.

The invisible things
No one applauds these.
So we will.
Patience

Held together when the day already broke it.

Worry

Carried alone, so the children would not have to.

Remembering

Every appointment. Every shoe size. Every favorite food. Every fear.

Preparing

The lunches. The clothes. The future. While the rest of us slept.

Comforting

Without needing the moment to be about you.

Forgiving

Especially the man you married. He knows what he owes you.

From the kids
In their own words.
Without thinking. Without editing.
What three children say without thinking is what is most true about a mother.
"She's very nice."
Christopher, age 14
"Caring. Loving."
Christopher, age 14
She always takes care of you when you need it.
She helps with school, with home, with hunger.
With anything.
Christopher, age 14
"Infinity. It never stops."
Bayne, age 13
"Smart enough to marry Dad."
Bayne, age 13
"She's the best mom to ever exist."
Diana, age 17

She's very nice.

Caring. Loving.

She always takes care of you when you need it.

She always makes sure you're doing everything right.

She helps me with school, with home, when I'm hungry.

Anything I need.

Bayne
son, age 13
Infinity.
It never stops.

She's nice. Loving. Caring.

She helps us with everything when we need it.

Everything.

And she was smart enough to marry Dad.

Diana
daughter, age 17 · in her own words
She's the best mom
to ever exist.

I love most how caring she is, and how much she works to give us everything we ask for.

I love how she takes me shopping all the time. To the beach. Gives me everything I need and want.

She shows me what it's like to be a woman. What it's like to be so intelligent and smart.

Without her, I don't know what I would do.

Dragana,

I am not always good at saying things the way they deserve to be said. So today I am going to try.

You are the rock. You are the stable. You are the sun, and we revolve around you.

You are the light of my life.

You have kept me whole. You have strengthened me in more ways than anyone can imagine. There is no version of the man I am that exists without the woman you are.

You are the best mother any of these kids could ever have. You are the best wife I could ever have. They are good because of you. I am better because of you.

Every day with you is like winning the lottery.

A man could have all the money in the world, and without you it would mean nothing. That is the bottom line. That is the truth I live with every single day. I do not say it enough. I am saying it now.

Happy Mother's Day, my love. Forever and a day.

Christopher
P.S. You know exactly what else I love. You always have.
A promise
Not theatrical.
Just true.
To keep showing up. To remember the small things, the way you remember them.
To be the man this house deserves, because you have been the woman it always needed.
To love you the way you love us. Loud, quiet, ordinary, and forever.
